Growatt, a global leader in distributed solar and energy storage solutions, officially announces the launch of APX HV Battery 2.0, a next-generation high-voltage battery system for residential and small C&I applications. This upgraded system delivers enhanced resilience across performance, safety, and scalability, setting a new benchmark for smart energy storage.
The APX HV Battery 2.0 is built for Europe’s fast-changing energy storage market and it supports a wide range of use cases, from maximizing self-consumption and providing reliable backup power to enabling future-ready, battery-first energy systems. Building on the proven success of the first-generation APX Battery, this new iteration takes the platform even further. It introduces meaningful upgrades in installation simplicity, operational flexibility, and long-term reliability.
Engineered to adapt to diverse system requirements, APX HV Battery 2.0 (APX 5.0–30.0M-S3) offers flexible capacity ranging from 5 kWh to 30 kWh, with additional capacity options planned for future releases. Its true scalability is enabled by a modular architecture, supporting up to six battery modules on a single unified base.
The system introduces a new level of flexibility that goes beyond traditional battery designs. Existing APX users can freely mix new and previous-generation battery modules within one system, protecting prior investments. The platform also supports mixed state-of-charge (SOC) operation, module-level energy optimization, and a unified master module compatible with both single-phase and three-phase systems, delivering unmatched adaptability across applications.
Installer experience was a core focus in the development of APX HV Battery 2.0. Guided by continuous feedback from partners and installers, Growatt’s R&D team significantly enhanced installation efficiency and accuracy.
Featuring a stacked, cable-free design, the system enables true plug-and-play installation. Integrated carrying handles and a compact footprint further simplify on-site handling, deployment, and commissioning. The result is faster installation, fewer errors, and reduced troubleshooting, helping installers deliver projects with greater confidence and efficiency. When paired with Growatt MOD-HU Series hybrid inverters (with more compatible inverter combinations coming soon), APX HV Battery 2.0 offers a clear advantage in streamlined, system-level commissioning.
Reliability is proven where conditions are toughest. APX HV Battery 2.0 is built on ultra-safe LFP (LiFePO₄) chemistry, combined with IP66-rated protection and a wide operating temperature range of –20°C to 55°C, ensuring stable, year-round performance in diverse environments.
Safety is further reinforced through module-level aerosol fire suppression and an integrated heating film, enabling dependable operation even in extreme cold. This multi-layer safety architecture underscores Growatt’s long-term commitment to secure, durable, and resilient energy storage solutions.
“Energy storage today demands higher safety, greater flexibility, and stronger adaptability as global energy systems evolve,” said David Ding, CEO of Growatt. “With APX HV Battery 2.0, we’ve taken a significant step forward in Europe, delivering a solution designed not only for today’s needs, but for the energy systems of tomorrow.”
APX HV Battery 2.0 reflects Growatt’s continued leadership in practical energy storage innovation. As households and businesses accelerate the transition toward clean, decentralized energy, Growatt remains committed to delivering intelligent, reliable solutions that power a more resilient and sustainable future.
